Twin Girls Little Fairies Theme Cake Smash Session | DFW Cake Smash photography
Not every first birthday session starts with giggles and frosting. Sometimes, it begins with… tears.
The girls arrived, and we dressed them in matching pink lace dresses and floral headbands from the studio wardrobe—perfect for their milestone portraits. At least, that was the plan. Instead, one little voice started crying, then the other joined in, and soon we had a perfect harmony of “no thank you” energy. Parents gave me that maybe we should just call itlook.
But if there’s one thing I’ve learned about photographing little ones, it’s that flexibility is everything. So we scrapped the original plan and headed straight for the bath.
The moment their toes touched the warm water, everything changed. Giggles replaced tears as they splashed, played, and beamed at each other. It was the reset we all needed.
Afterwards, we dressed them in fresh outfits from the studio for some sweet, clean portraits with toys. Their personalities began to shine—one curious and thoughtful, the other with a mischievous sparkle in her eyes.
Finally, it was cake time. The pastel-pink beauties were picture-perfect… but the girls? Not overly impressed. They gave the cakes a few polite pokes, sampled a bit of frosting, and then decided they were done. And honestly? That’s perfectly fine. Cake smash sessions are about celebrating the milestone, not finishing dessert.
What started as a rocky morning turned into a gallery full of joy, laughter, and genuine moments. These twins may not remember their first birthday, but the photos tell the story—tears, splashes, smiles, and all.
