Posed Newborn Session

My style is very baby-focused. I love the simplicity of monochromatic setups and deep colors with some rich neutrals too. I only take a limited number of bookings per month to be able to give each client my full attention. Newborn sessions are booked Monday through Friday, 9am-3pm. Last minute appointments sometimes are available but not guaranteed. Sessions will take place in Peppermint Studio in Southlake.

EVERYTHING is included at the studio, so you don’t need to bring anything unless you have something special you would like to incorporate. I joke and say “all you need is the baby and milk.” But really, that’s all you need to bring! All props, baskets, blankets, headbands, hats, newborn pants, and wraps are supplied. You will only need to bring your personal items like pacifiers, diapers, milk, etc. Before your session day, you’ll be able to fill out an online questionnaire in the comfort of your home – this will help me 100% customize your session to your taste, so that everything will be ready as soon as you step in the door. 

$300 non-refundable retainer is due at time of booking to hold your session date. You will select your package within three days of the session. Come and relax in my comfortable 1200 square foot studio. The studio is thoroughly cleaned and a sanitized before each session for your baby’s safety. My goal is for you to feel totally at home while you’re here!

the booking process

  • Start by filling out the contact form, and I will promptly text you detailed session information and package options. After you review everything, you are welcome to ask me more questions and talk about your preferences.

  • Once you have decided to proceed, you will receive a booking link to submit the retainer payment. This payment confirms your session and reserves your preferred date and time. It's important to complete this step as soon as possible to secure your spot.

  • When your little one arrives, please let me know the good news! We will then work together to schedule the exact date and time for your session, ensuring it takes place within the optimal timeframe for newborn photography.

  • Before the session, I will send you a questionnaire that covers important details about your baby, such as their preferences, any specific setups you have in mind, and any additional information that will help me personalize the session. This step ensures that we create a customized experience.

  • On the scheduled day, bring your baby to my studio. I will create a comfortable and relaxed environment, providing all the necessary props and equipment to capture stunning images of your newborn. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the experience while I work to create beautiful memories for you.

  • Within three days of the session, you will receive a proof gallery containing a selection of images. Take your time to review the gallery and choose your favorite images and package for further editing and final delivery. Promptly selecting your preferred images will help expedite the final editing process.

  • Once you have made your selections and paid for the remaining balance, I will complete the final editing process, applying my expertise to enhance each chosen image. You can expect to receive the final edited images within two weeks from the date of your session, provided that the gallery selections are made in a timely manner.

 
 
 
 
 

frequently asked questions

  • Typically, all sessions are scheduled to take place within the first 14 days after the birth of your baby. It is best to contact me as soon as possible after your baby's arrival so that we can set up the session within that timeframe. However, I understand that life can sometimes get hectic, and if your baby is already over 21 days old and you're looking to book a session, please don't hesitate to reach out. I have experience capturing beautiful images of "older" newborns as well.

  • The sessions are held in my beautiful studio, Peppermint Studio, conveniently located in Southlake, TX. The studio provides a dedicated space where I have access to all of my props and equipment, ensuring consistency and delivering the most stunning images for my clients to cherish forever. Choosing a studio setting eliminates the need to worry about cleaning or organizing your home after having your baby, which can be overwhelming and stressful during this precious time. Instead, you can simply come to the studio, relax, and enjoy the session.

    By conducting sessions in my studio, I can carefully control the lighting, background, and overall ambiance to create the perfect setting for capturing the beauty and innocence of your newborn. The studio is kept at 75-80 degrees depending on poses, so make sure you dress accordingly!

  • The newborn session usually runs from 10am to 1pm on weekdays, approximately 2-3 hours, allowing ample time for feeding, soothing, and posing the baby.. It might taker even longer if siblings and family shots are included. If you have any specific concerns or scheduling constraints, please let me know in advance, and I will do my best to accommodate your needs. My goal is to create a memorable and stress-free session, allowing you to cherish these precious memories for a lifetime.

  • I highly recommend booking your session in the end of your second trimester to ensure availability. You’re also welcome to book before that as well! Also, I always try and accommodate any last minute bookings if my calendar allows it – newborn photography is my favorite and I never want anyone to miss out! By booking your session in advance, you can relax and have peace of mind knowing that your newborn photography needs are taken care of. It also allows us to discuss any specific ideas or preferences you may have, ensuring that we create a customized and memorable experience tailored to your family's unique story.

  • For packages that can include sibling or family photos, siblings are welcome to join us for first hour of the session. If sibings will stay, that’s fine too. You can bring iPads or books for siblings, or there’s plenty of food/coffee places nearby as well as stores and a neighborhood park (Bicentennial Park, etc.) to occupy the time.
