First birthdays are such a special milestone, and this purple boho cake smash session was the perfect way to celebrate. With soft lavender florals, delicate macrame accents, and dreamy neutral tones, the set created a warm and whimsical boho atmosphere that perfectly complemented this sweet baby girl.
At the studio, every cake smash session is thoughtfully designed to feel both beautiful and timeless. The boho themefeatured textured macrame wall hangings, soft florals in shades of lavender and blush, and neutral decor pieces that created a soft and elegant setting for the portraits.
Before the cake came out, we captured a series of classic first birthday portraits so mom and dad could have timeless images of their little one at this special age.
Sweet Portrait Moments Before the Cake
The session began with some adorable portraits of this little one exploring the set. She was curious about all the pretty flowers and decorations, and her expressions were absolutely priceless.
Her delicate outfit paired beautifully with the soft boho colors in the background. The pastel tones, combined with the soft textures and floral details, created a dreamy look that photographs beautifully.
One of the sweetest parts of photographing babies at this age is capturing their personality as it shines through — from curious looks to playful smiles and those tiny little expressions that parents love forever.
Time for the Cake Smash
Of course, the highlight of any first birthday session is the cake smash!
When the cake was brought out, she was instantly intrigued. At first she examined it carefully, touching the frosting and tasting small bites. Within moments she realized how delicious it was and started digging in with excitement.
Cake smash sessions are always full of wonderful, unpredictable moments — messy fingers, frosting-covered smiles, and plenty of laughter. These are the images parents treasure most because they capture the pure joy and personality of their little one.
By the end of the cake smash, there was frosting on her hands, cheeks, and even a little on her dress — exactly the way a cake smash should be!
The Perfect Splash Bath Finish
After all that cake fun, it was time for the splash session.
The little bathtub is always a favorite part for babies. Warm water, bubbles, and fun bath toys turn the cleanup into another adorable photo opportunity.
She absolutely loved splashing and playing in the tub, and the joyful expressions during this part of the session are always some of the cutest images from the day. The splash session not only cleans up the cake mess, but it also gives us some of the happiest smiles and giggles.
